My daughter has been going to dance class for the last 3 years. She started when she was 5, so you can imagine how fast she outgrows shoes. We are on her 3rd pair of the same Tapster shoes and they have worn very well for the amount of time she spends in them. The shoes are quite hard, but that is good cause they are durable. I am sure there are plenty of "softer" tap shoes on the market, but for the price of the Tapsters, they can't be beat. We aren't professionals, so no complaints from our side. Good buy indeed!!

found it easy to get the shoes in record time.Needed shoes for grandaughter's dance rectial. She had the wrong type. The shoes ran big I take a size 7.5 and ordered a 6.5 for her and the tap shoes was too big for me. Ordered a new shoe 5.5 and though still a little to big we kept them for next years dancing. My granddaughter takes a street shoe size 6.5. All in all the shoe is a good fix for a 12 year old now just waiting for my refund for the 1st pair.

Comments about Capezio Tapster Beginner Shoe:
I bought these shoes first because I was a beginner tapper. The shoes were very comfortable, I was glad I read the review, however, so I would know what size. The problem I had with these, is there was no tap noise and the taps could not be loosened because they were put on with rivets. I had to purchase another pair from your company that I love. But would not recommend these.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Be brave! Order 2 sizes down.

I had to order a second pair and return the first because I wasn't brave enough to order a full 2 sizes smaller than usual; 1 1/2 was not enough. I'm a beginner so don't know much, but these shoes seem just fine to me. I'm tapping happy in them.

The shoe does run big as described, so order it 2 sizes smaller as directed. I only ordered them one size smaller and must wear two pairs of socks to be comfortable.

Great tap shoe! They do run larger than the shoe size. Be sure to order 2 sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
Gets the job done.

They are definately great for beginners. It isnt what we really wanted but what we could afford. They are durable tap shoes and they get the job done. If you are looking for quality and inexpensive these are the shoes.

So far, so good!
from Danville, CA
I purchased these for my seven-year-old. She usually wears a size 2 children's, but after reading the reviews, I purchased a 4. Great fit, with about a thumbnail left for her foot to grow. She immediately wore them to class, no socks, no complaints. I think the price was very reasonable. I'll buy her a replacement pair--hopefully in two years. I gave this 4 stars because I'm not sure of the wear and tear, but I'm optimistic.
