I bought these to wear under a tutu for a performance on a very high arena stage. They were perfect. The color was great. Super cute. I tend to be a little skeptical of sizing recommendations for dancewear so I erred on the side of caution and went with the larger of the sized that looked suitable. I shouldn't have. Going smaller would have been better. So the shorts were a little big, but they still did the job. Didn't fall down or ride up. Very comfortable. I folded the waistband of my tights over the waistband of the shorts, just for a little extra security, but it probably wasn't necessary.

We bought these after my younger dancer inherited a pair of ruffle shorts from a friend and my older dancer wanted a pair too. When the shorts arrived, the stitching didn't cover the elastic waistband in several places and one leg of the shorts looked haphazardly cut with jagged edges. Customer service was excellent however and our second pair of shorts arrived in plenty of time before dance class started. The waistband was fine but one leg of the shorts was longer than the other. Since they were okay otherwise, I took a pair of scissors and trimmed the shorts to be the same length on both sides. I am not sure I would buy again, but the shorts are cute while they last.

About Me Trendy/Stylish Dresser
I ordered these shorts for my dance performance with a cute matching top. When the arrived, they were really cute but the layer of fabric that held the ruffles was not sewn to the legs of the shorts so i did it myself. It washes well and looked great on stage, but the quality was low.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Sassy and comfortable
from New Zealand!
Great dance shorts with a flattering longer leg length so they dont ride up. Cute ruffles, good quality, good price.
So adorable, but not great quality.
My daughter who is 6 and I both loved these! The problem is that the ruffle fabric is so fragile, that they tore within 1 hour while she was just practicing dance and gymnastics inside. I noticed the tank we got to match with the same ruffle fabric did as well. I'm sure these are fine for recitals or something where kids won't be wearing them over and over like mine planned to for gymnastics and dance lessons. Major bummer because the prices are great and the look is as well.

Cute shorts. Got them in black and my daughter wants me to order them in another color.

About Me Classic Dresser
I wear these shorts for trapeze and other aerial arts. I love the longer length and the fun of the ruffles. This is the second pair I've purchased and I'm still happy with them!

I wear for flying trapeze and other aerial arts. They fit well over tights, and stay put well enough that I could wear them on their own - even if I'm upside down. Ruffles add a fun flair, love the slightly longer (2"?) inseam.
fun jazz shorts
CUTE FOR THE YOUNG DANCER
To measure girth, place tape measure on center of right shoulder, run through crotch and back to right shoulder loosely (as shown in diagram).
Remember, the girth is the most important measurement.
When in doubt, let the girth measurement determine size.
