Comments about Pillows For Pointe Pointe Pillows:
These pads are very comfortable and they were my first toe pads. I was only dancing on them for about 7 months once a week for about an hour. They were very good at first but then where my big toes are the gel part started tearing and I didn't have any padding under my big toes. I have the regular gel kind now and they're holding up much better.

Best pad ever!
By Jenna
from Vancouver, BC
I'm still fairly new to pointe, but I've already tried quite a few types of pads, as I went out and bought a bunch right away to try. I was fitted for my first pair of pointe shoes using Bunheads Pro Pads, and I did love them a lot in terms of a small amount of cushion without preventing me from knowing if I was actually over my box or not, but I've quickly discovered that I'm one of the odd ones who can't stand the seem under the toe. Some of the pads I tried were too slippery, some actually caused pain, and some were far too thick. With gellows, once I trimmed them down to the size of an ouch pouch (gellows are longer), fit exactly like the pro pad and gave the same amount of protection and comfort without presenting any of the negatives I found with other pad options. Best of all? No bulky seam! I've had new pointe shoes since then, but the gellows are still holding up, even after trimming them to size. As a note, for comparison with other reviews, I wear them with the cloth side against my feet and I don't find that I sweet or smell any more than in pro pads.

I love the Gellows, because they allow you to feel the floor, but prevent the chafing, blistering, and bleeding I used to get when all I used was lamb's wool. After a few practices, they start to smell, but a bit of baby powder helps that. Also, after a LOT of practices, they start to kind of come apart. However, they tend to outlast most of my pointe shoes, so no complaints!

I use these pads for class. I don't need to add any other padding to them. I've tried other pads, but I always come back to these. The one down side is that they may wear down more quickly, if worn with the gel side against your barefoot.

I thought I would thoroughly enjoy this product because it had the gel in it but some material as well. My feet sweat profusely and these just hold the moisture intact.
