I like these but be careful! They have a bad fit. They don't ride up, but the waist band is to big. it goes up like my entire torso onto my bust. But I fold them over slightly and then im good to go. I ordered them in black and a size medium. I am 5'0" and 110 lbs. I dont really have a butt though. They are just a little tight, so definitely order the bigger size if your debating between two sizes. They're tight but loose at the same time. anyways, I wear them for dance class and am wearing them with the fringe crop top for competitions for my solo and I can't wait! ...Happy shopping! (:

Cute and Modern
from Los Gatos, CA
I purchased these cute dance shorts for my daughter. They fit perfectly and the waistband can be rolled down if you prefer. Cute and modern looking.

My daughter needed these for a group dance or I would have returned them. The waist is extremely high even for a high waisted short and the band around the middle is tight and doesn't stretch very well so it makes an unsightly bulge. We had to order up a size and still tight.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My daughter wore this shorts to practice for a contemporary dance that lasts 3 min and afterwards noticed a whole on the back seam of the shorts. The bad quality is very disappointing. I'm glad she only wore it to a practice how horrible would it be to have it happened on stage!!

I bought these shorts for my Dance Team and they fit really well. Because of the high waist, they are super flattering on the stomach. While they do cut in a little on the thigh, it's worth it because they do not ride up at all. Love them!
These shorts are great, fit true to size and can be used in class or on stage great quality I bought them in black.
Great shorts -- Short but not revealing
from Boston, MA
These shorts are a trendy cut of the classic dance short. The photo is hard to see, but there is a seam cutting low around the hips (so you can fold the top over if you want) and fairly tight bands around the legs. At first I didn't like the styling, but once my daughter tried them, we realized that it's actually really flattering. The band helps the shorts avoid riding up and showing fanny cheek. That's always been a problem before with such short shorts. These are great.

Fits great, does not ride up or shift with movement.

To measure girth, place tape measure on center of right shoulder, run through crotch and back to right shoulder loosely (as shown in diagram).
Remember, the girth is the most important measurement.
When in doubt, let the girth measurement determine size.
